When can I fly to Mammoth?
This spring/summer, Horizon Air is offering a daily flight to and from Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Flights will operate daily between Monday, April 12 and Thursday, September 30, 2010.

Where is Mammoth Yosemite Airport?
Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) is located a short 10 minutes or 6 miles (9.7 km) from Mammoth Lakes on US HWY 395 and SR 203.

Who is Horizon Air?
Horizon Air began operations in 1978 with 36 enthusiastic employees and two leased aircraft with service between Yakima, Pasco and Seattle. By 1986 the company's proven track record attracted the attention of larger airlines and was acquired by Alaska Airlines. How much does it cost to fly to Mammoth?
Now through June 30, 2010, fly to MMH or LAX for only $49 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday (Must book by June 14 - 7 days advance purchase). All other days are $69 with 7-day advance purchase. Flights are available for sale online or by calling 800-547-9308 through September 30, 2010.

What type of aircraft is used to fly to Mammoth?
Horizon Air’s flight to and from Mammoth will be operated using a Bombardier Q400 (DH4). This 74 seat, high-speed, twin-engine turboprop is one of the most technologically advanced regional aircraft in the world. The Q400 is also among the most environmentally friendly aircraft today, burning 30 percent less fuel and producing 30 percent lower emissions than comparable jets.

When should I check in?
To accommodate all travelers on a flight, passengers with luggage must be checked-in and available to board at the designated boarding gate at least 40 minutes before posted departure for all flights. Failure to meet these requirements may cause the cancellation of reserved seats and/or the entire reservation. Passengers with luggage are advised to arrive 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure, and 60 minutes for passengers without luggage.

What items can I bring on the plane?
Horizon Air allows one carry-on bag, which can measure up to 10" H x 17" W x 24" L (25 x 43 x 61 cm), plus one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase or laptop computer. At least one of the items should be stowed under the seat in front of you. Important and personal items such as keys, medication and travel documents should always be packed in your carry-on baggage.

How many bags can I travel with?
Effective June 16, 2010, passengers will be charged $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second checked bag. Each bag can be a maximum of 62 linear inches (length + width + height) and may weigh up to 50 pounds. Additional fees apply if there are 3 or more bags being checked, or if the bags are overweight or oversized.

Can I check my ski/snowboard equipment?
Yes. Your ski or snowboard equipment may be checked as long as it is packaged in a proper soft or hard ski/snowboard bag, and is no more than 115 linear inches. Sporting equipment checked in addition to the free baggage allowance is charged an excess fee of $25.

How do I get to and from Mammoth Yosemite Airport?
Hotel shuttles, taxis and rental cars are available from Mammoth Yosemite Airport to Mammoth Lakes. Please arrange transportation with your lodging property when making a reservation, or reserve a rental car or taxi.

Can I park my car overnight at the airport?
Yes, overnight parking costs $8.00 a night, and can be paid at the self-service kiosk in the parking lot just outside the Hot Creek Aviation terminal.
