Street Maintenance Division

Responsibilities

Street Maintenance Division operations include:

  • Snow removal
  • Street repair (patching, painting, and minor road rehabilitation projects)
  • Traffic signal and street light maintenance
  • Sign removal and replacement
  • Storm drain maintenance
  • Building maintenance, including transit shelters, Town Hall, the community center, and Police Department
  • Facilities maintenance

The map below shows the responsible party and priority of snow removal in the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Snow removal is performed by a variety of equipment including snow plows, snow blowers, and material loaders of varying sizes. The priority of snow removal may change at any time in accordance with the variable conditions brought by any given snow storm event.

The map below shows the streets cleared by Town of Mammoth Lakes staff in snow plow trucks only. Additionally, snow plow trucks place cinders on the roadways to aid in melting and prevent ice formation. This map does not show routes cleared by snow blowers or private entities. The snow plow truck map may change at any time in accordance with the variable conditions brought by any given snow storm event.
